Local Native Language Survey Recently Conducted

 

Waipä Foundation, Hanalei Hawaiian Civic Club, and ‘öpio of Halele‘a recently surveyed our Hawaiian Community to learn about the understanding and use of ‘ölelo Hawai’i. 

Project helpers surveyed ohana and others to learn language proficiency and interest in learning Hawaiian and Interviewed küpuna and native speakers to learn place names, moÿolelo, and history of Halele‘a.

 


Hanalei Road on National Register of Historic Places

 

 

  In 2003, Kuhio Highway Route 560 (10 miles from  

  Princeville to Ke`e) joined about 100 roads nationwide
